Therapist Bio

Mihaela Poca, BSc, Registered Psychotherapist, RMT

I started working in health and healing in 2005.  Before that I was working as a software developer in a financial company. I found myself longing for deeper human connection and a sense of purpose beyond the technical work I was doing. When I began exploring healing modalities, something shifted—I felt engaged, present, and connected to something meaningful. I started taking courses in healing and I found an opportunity to apply my healing skills when I was volunteering with a hospice for end of life holistic care. Volunteering in a hospice, I saw firsthand how deep presence and compassionate care could ease suffering. Witnessing these moments of connection reinforced my belief in the power of healing in relationship.

Each client brings a unique set of experiences, and I tailor my approach to meet them where they are. Drawing from Relational Therapy, EMDR, Mindfulness, Somatic Awareness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), I support clients in becoming more integrated in body and mind.

My background in Zen Buddhist meditation informs my approach, helping clients cultivate compassion and self-acceptance. From this foundation, clarity emerges, allowing for meaningful steps toward change.
